About Circus Arts Workshop

Circus Arts Workshop was created to provide everybody the opportunity to try learning  circus skills.  We come to your location and provide all of the equipment necessary to teach the workshop.  Our workshops can be designed for  parties, company picnics, on-going afterschool classes, or summer camp intensives.

Child Guidance Clinic, Polytechnic School, Waverly School, Odyssey School, Highland Hall Waldorf School, Avison School, Luther Burbank Middle School, Westridge School, Magnolia Merchants Partnership, Summerkids, Burbank Parks and Recreation, California Hospital Medical Center, Children Uniting Nations and many more.

About Our Coaches

All of our coaches are experienced teaching artists who are also working professional circus performers.  Organizations our coaches have worked for include Ringling Brothers, Cirque du Soleil, Circus Smirkus, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm.

About Donna Wood-Babcock 

Circus Arts Workshop is owned and operated by Donna Wood-Babcock.  Donna has made her living as a clown and circus arts instructor since graduating from Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey's Clown College in 1981.  She holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Development with and specialization in Arts Education from Pacific Oaks University.  Donna is the former Executive Director of the Jumbo Shrimp Circus Academy and was Director of the Hope Street Youth Circus for 15 years.  Her experience as a Circus Arts teacher includes working as a trainer for Cirque du Soleil’s social outreach program, Cirque du Monde, developing the position of Director of Education for the Los Angeles Foundation of the Circus Arts, creating the Circus Arts program for City Hearts, Kids Say Yes to the Arts, working as a Director of Clown College at Ocean Park, Hong Kong, and teaching thousands of students and directing dozens of youth circuses at schools and community centers throughout Los Angeles.  Donna is an active member of the American Youth Circus Organization.  To learn more about AYCO please visit http://www.americanyouthcircus.org
